Early in the afternoon on Tuesday, over 100 domestic workers and organizers, nearly all women of color, many of them immigrants, gathered in the basement of a Washington, D.C., church on Capitol Hill. As they were preparing to embark on a long day of meetings and knocking on legislators’ office doors, they chatted excitedly in English and Spanish, ate lunch, and discussed what they would say in front of their representatives. adidas one 8 "The policing of immigrants in general, and Latinxs in particular, was and is a normalized part of growing up in Southern California. I remember being confused as a child. Why were these checkpoints necessary so far from the actual border? Now I realize that part of the function was to create a sense of fear and danger for Latinxs, people of color, and immigrants." adidas one 8 that change, we need to build massive social movements, and those social movements will need to be propped up by our community organizations and neighborhood associations, our union locals and social movement organizations, our PTAs and church groups and even our little pandemic pods.
