On the night of August 11, 2012, in Steubenville, Ohio, an unconscious 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a group of high school football players. Videos of the incident ended up online, circulated on social media, and demanded international attention because of the sheer brutality of the attack. Even after watching the videos, the town of Steubenville rushed to the defense of the football players, all of whom had long been heralded as hometown heroes. I sometimes think thereâs sort of a post-colonial rejection of Britain as a model, and we seem to gravitate towards emulating the U.S. Maybe because thatâs because we watch a lot of American television, American movies, and so I think particularly after watchingThe Hunting Ground adidas men's terrex agravic xt gtx
