Along the way, you’ll get things wrong. You’ll make mistakes. Sometimes you’ll have to do things you don’t love (you’ll spend a lot of time on your hair and makeup in the future even though you hardly give them a thought right now). But you’ll muddle through. For a few years, it’s going to feel as if you are single-handedly keeping the tabloid industry in business. You’ll get through that, too. Take criticism seriously but not personally. There will be people who want nothing more than to see you fail, but you can’t let them scare you. Live your life on your terms, not theirs. You’ll be reminded over and over again that you are “flawed,” a word you will come to loathe. But years from now, you’ll come back to Wellesley on commencement day. The student speaker, the daughter of Syrian immigrants, will stand in front of her class, just as you once stood in front of yours, and insist on the beauty of imperfection. “Flaws show authenticity and character,” she’ll say. “Let yourself be flawed.” It’s hard to think of better advice than that. veja bleu et rouge "I've followed Karl Lagerfeld's career for years, and while he's certainly presented me with some problematic moments, his design abilities always left me inspired to dream. Lagerfeld, the person, was almost less important than Lagerfeld, the myth; the genius who could send us rocketing to the moon, glitter boots in tow, or emerging pearl-clad from the sea as Florence Welch sang from inside a seashell. Kerby chose to hold the show at the Weeksville Heritage Center, in the Weeksville section of Brooklyn. The historic neighborhood is named after James Weeks, an African-American man, who in 1838 a decade after slavery was abolished in New York, established this small free-black community. The location was once again transformed to its origins when a gospel choir appeared to provide the show's soundtrack. The historical significance of gospel music, the black church, and this historic location represented unapologetic blackness at its highest level.Instagram contentView on InstagramInstagram contentView on Instagram veja bleu et rouge
