“The truth is, at this point, small, individual actions — like carpooling and not using plastic straws — are not going to be enough to put us on the track to climate recovery. We need bold actions from elected officials and corporate leaders if we really want to see change. That being said, to truly transition our society away from the era of fossil fuels, we need a culture shift that is only going to happen from individual action. As an individual, the greatest impact we can make right now is to vote. We must elect people into office who understand the climate crisis and are prepared to take the bold action necessary to address it. And then we have to talk about the crisis, and really examine how our own lifestyles are contributing to the culture of waste and consumerism that has led to the abuse of our plant. This transition is going to require each of us to play our role in whatever way we can. If you can vote, vote. If you can strike, strike. If you can educate, educate. Now is the time: We each must make the choice to be on the right side of history.” - Katie Eder, climate activist and social entrepreneur, currently serving as the executive director of the Future Coalition3.
